Downward Doghouse

Before Ni Hao, Kai-Lan aired, there was a Nick Jr. mini-series called My World. One of the shorts in the series was called Downward Doghouse. My World hasn't resurfaced or appeared again after Nick Jr aired it in around 2004, making this series as a whole lost media. These three shorts would serve as the pilot of Ni Hao, Kai-Lan, which was revealed in 2007.

Differences[]

  • Kai-Lan wore a long yellow shirt and yellow shorts. Her eyes were a little bigger. Her arms and legs were round and stump-like, similar to The Powerpuff Girls. She had no flowers in her hair. Her original voice actress was Bridget Ho.
  • Tolee was called Kolie, and had a shirt with no sleeves instead of a hoodie. His voice actor was Ross Simanteris.
  • Hoho had no tail, and he only spoke gibberish. His voice actor was script coordinator Spencer Walker.
  • Ye-Ye's eyes were bigger and more anime-like. He wore a more traditional chef's uniform with white shirt, black pants and black shoes, which did appear as one of his outfits in several episodes. His original voice actor was Chao Chi Li.
  • Lulu was a background character who only appeared once in "Dragon Dance".
  • Rintoo was present only in storyboards. It is possible he was created during production of "Where's Hoho?".
  • Some characters, like the yellow grasshopper, did not return in Ni Hao, Kai-Lan.
