Kai-Lan's Carnival (Chinese: 凯兰的嘉年华) is the fourteenth episode of the first season of Ni Hao, Kai-Lan, and the show's fourteenth overall episode. It premiered on October 6, 2008, as part of a week of brand new episodes, called "Super Happy Friends Week". In this episode, Hoho and Rintoo accidentally break Stompy's roller coaster rocket ride and they run away because they think that he's gonna be mad.
In production order, it is the sixteenth episode of the first season.
Synopsis[]
There's a carnival happening today and Kai-Lan and her friends are excited. But things twist around when Rintoo and Hoho accidentally break Stompy's rocket ride and they worry that he’s gonna be mad. Kai-Lan has to get both of them to help their elephant friend fix the ride.
Plot[]
Kai-Lan and her animal friends are going to a carnival today, where they all want to go on rides and play games. At the carnival, they meet Ye-Ye, and Kai-Lan plays the first game: matching Chinese numbers, where she then wins dinosaur stickers for everyone. They then hear Stompy, who is strengthening the rocket rollercoaster. He then tests out the rollercoaster by spraying water from his water bucket.
While they wait for Stompy to finish painting the rollercoaster, they then go to play other games, like the Ants' City Game where they match the ropes to pull and earn acorn bells, and Mr. Hoppy's Hop n' Splash game. During Mr. Hoppy's game, Rintoo and Hoho threw balls, and accidentally caused a chain reaction that sent a box of bean bags flying into the air and broke Stompy's rollercoaster car. "Oh, no! We broke Stompy's rocket!" Rintoo and Hoho exclaim in shock. Rintoo fears that Stompy is gonna be mad and they run away in fear. Kai-Lan realizes that they ran away because they think Stompy is going to be mad that they accidentally broke his rollercoaster car. While going after Rintoo and Hoho, they run into Mei Mei's dinosaur plushes, which also causes Hoho and Rintoo to stop, believing that Mei Mei is going to be mad, but luckily, she's not. Kai-Lan and Tolee apologize to Mei Mei for knocking over her dinosaurs, and they help her restack the dinosaur plushes. Ye-Ye states that they didn't mean to cause the problem and that they helped fix it. Kai-Lan comes up with a solution; "when you cause a problem, here's what you should do; first say you're sorry and then help to fix it too."
Everyone then returns to Stompy, where Hoho and Rintoo confess that they broke the rollercoaster and apologize, Stompy sighs, and but he says that he's upset over the rocket broken. Everyone then pieces together the rocket, where everyone including Ye-Ye rides on as well.

Trivia[]
- This episode pays an homage of what has happened to Tolee in the episode "Twirly Whirly Flyers".
- This is also the first time that Mei Mei is seen even without Mr. Fluffy.
- This episode is also the title of a DVD released by Paramount Home Entertainment around 2009, and there is also a book based on the episode.
- This is the only episode where Rintoo, Tolee, and Hoho help Kai-Lan wake up Mr. Sun
- Rintoo and Hoho are the troublemakers in this episode.
- In production order, this is the first episode where the Nick Jr. hearts on the Ni Hao, Kai-Lan logo were retired as well as the first episode to feature the 2008 Nickelodeon Productions CGI Lightbulb, this goes on for the rest of the season.
- This the only episode where Mr. Hoppy can speak English.

- It is unknown how the bean bags manage to stay on a flying box and land back down without breaking.
