The Dinosaur Balloon is the 2nd episode of the 2nd season of Ni Hao, Kai-Lan, and the show's twentieth overall episode. The episode premiered on May 11, 2009, being the first of five new episodes that premiered in a week, called "Kai-Lan's Super Celebrations Week". Lulu is having a balloon festival and everybody's excited. Kai-Lan, Rintoo and Stompy team up to make a giant dinosaur balloon, but things go haywire when Kai-Lan accidentally knocks it over, leaving Stompy to not helping them fix it because it wasn't his fault the balloon broke, and Rintoo must find a way to get Stompy to help.

Today is Lulu's Balloon Festival and Kai-Lan, Rintoo, and Stompy team up to make a giant dinosaur balloon for the festival. But when Kai-Lan accidentally knocks down the dinosaur balloon, Stompy refuses to help her put it back together.
Plot[]
Kai-Lan and her animal friends are going to a balloon festival with Lulu. Kai-Lan, Rintoo, and Stompy are making a dinosaur balloon, where Ye-Ye then brings parts for the dinosaur balloon. They then put the pieces together, but Kai-Lan accidentally knocks the balloon down. Stompy doesn't want to fix it, so he walks away to a pond, while Kai-Lan and Rintoo are unable to put it back together.
While Kai-Lan remains determined and tries to put the balloon back together to no avail, Rintoo stops and recaps that Stompy refused to help fix it because it wasn't his fault. Overhearing the ants, Rintoo watches the ants construct, but the flower balloon knocks out. Stompy, at first, believes that they won't fix it because it wasn't their whole fault, but they all put it up and fix it. Rintoo finds a solution; "even if it's not your fault, be a good friend and help out, help out, help out." Stompy sung the song too and then he snuggled Rintoo, hugged him with his trunk and sent him up. And when Stompy went to help Kai-Lan, he trumpeted happily and Rintoo roared happily too.
Stompy then decides to help Kai-Lan put together the Dinosaur Balloon, just in time for the balloon festival. Stompy realized that he was helping Kai-Lan and Stompy was so happy, he gave Kai-Lan a big hug and trumpets happily. Everyone then gets in their balloons, with Ye-Ye coming along as well. Everyone then flies their balloons, where it then turns into nighttime with a bunch of balloons floating in the sky and fireworks.

Trivia[]
- As Stompy walked away, this would be the only main problem where someone walks away without being sad or angry.
- This is the first and only time Stompy sings "I Got It".
- Rintoo takes over to host the show
- Another unnamed character, a terrier dog, makes an appearance at the balloon festival on the pig balloon.
- This is the last episode produced in 2008 as the next 19 episodes of Season 2 were produced in 2009 until Journey to Monkey King Castle in production order.
- This is the second episode where Kai-Lan, the main character, has a major problem following Lulu Day. This would happen one more time in Kai-Lan's Big Surprise.
- However, this is the first of two episodes where Kai-Lan can’t talk to the viewers (because she's busy, yet, struggling to get her dinosaur balloon back together in time for the balloon festival), resulting in Rintoo taking charge in singing, recapping and solving the main problem instead of her. The only other episode to do so is Kai-Lan's Big Surprise, where all three of Kai-Lan's animal friends help her.
- Similar to Lulu Day, but contrary to Kai-Lan's Big Surprise, Kai-Lan started the main problem, though she remains with a determined attitude and doesn't let the problem get her down (even as she couldn't talk to the viewers), nor does she give up and quit.
- This is the first episode where Kai-Lan doesn’t sing the "We Got It" solution until the end.
- Unlike Happy Chinese New Year!, Kai-Lan's Trip to China, Princess Kai-Lan and Journey to Monkey King Castle, this is the only episode where all the fireworks are circular.
- The part from this episode where Kai-Lan says "Super! I'll show you, and you can help, too. 跟我來." is where her animation is used for some promotional material for Nick Jr in late 2009.
- There was also the part in this episode where Rintoo jumps up and says, "I think so, too", which has his animation reused for some promotional Nickelodeon Play Date material in 2009.
- The part where Kai-Lan says "I wanna show you something. Come on!" is used for the "Walking on Sunshine" music video for Nick Jr. Move to the Music.
Goofs/Errors[]
- The dinosaur balloon's head is missing in one shot.
- The panda and the dinosaur balloon change height in between shots.
